I'm Mike, also known as Michael Wong. That's me with my lovely wife in the photo. Well, I suppose I'm somewhat biased. ;o)
The photo was taken in Seoul, South Korea, while we were on vacation there a few winters ago. It's really cold there in February, although the locals don't think so.
We were wrapped up in ski-gear, while the local girls had just skirts on, without tights or stockings to protect their legs from the cold! As you can see, we were hugging each other to keep our butts from freezing off. ;o)
Some people comment on the fact that we both look young. Well, we do feel young and act it sometimes... actually a lot of the times! I'm 37 years old young old young. As for Amy... we're not telling. Actually, I don't even know. She won't even tell me! Hahaha! ;o)
How Did This Site Come About?
Anyway, you're probably wondering how Mike's Marketing Tools (and Mike's Ecommerce Software) came about.
Well, the biggest challenge of any online business is attracting targeted visitors. Correct?
There are hundreds of marketing tools on offer. Some are good. But many are a waste of time and money. You could spend a small fortune trying out different tools.
So I thought to myself. Wouldn't it be great if someone would show me the best marketing tools I need to build my online business. It would save me so much time and money.
AHA! And then it hit me! OUCH! Why don't I be that someone?
So one day I decided to JUST DO IT!, as the Nike ad goes.
The result is what you're looking at - Mike's Marketing Tools, or Mike's Ecommerce Software, if you came from that site. You know it took me AGES to come up with those names. ;o)
I'm sure you would rather spend more time building your business with the very best marketing tools and ecommerce software available, than searching for those tools. Right?

Well, firstly I am a real person. Take a look at the photo on the right which was taken in Beverley Hills, California. I don't try to hide behind a computer monitor. I'm not ashamed of the way I look. ;o)
My Credentials
Normally, this would be a good place to impress you with my education and qualifications. However, I have to admit I don't have any. I never studied internet marketing at university prior to building my first web site. Back in 1997, there simply weren't any courses of this nature available.
So everything I've learnt is self-taught. How? I just read everything I could lay my hands on.
Since then, I've had tremendous success building a living online. Here are some of my achievements. I share my achievements with you NOT to impress you, but to impress upon you that you can also create incredible success online, with the help of the right knowledge and tools.
- Started one of my first web sites for less than $500, back in 1998. My company was acquired 18 months later for a "considerable" sum by iBoost Technology, which was backed by SoftBank; the same venture capitalists that funded the likes of Yahoo! and ETrade.
- Sold over 5,000 domain name registrations in a joint-venture with a well-known domain registrar.
- Generated over one million referrals for partner sites over a six month period.
- Sold over $1 million worth of online advertising in 2 months on top internet web properties.
- Generated millions of dollars in sales for my businesses, my clients and joint-venture partners.
- My optimization of the iBoost network generated over 2,000 top 30 rankings across all major search engines, which produced an additional 400,000+ monthly visitors and 8 million monthly page views.
- Written and published three books on search engine marketing.

I'm also well known and respected within the online marketing community. Just search for my name, "Michael Wong" and "marketing" in any search engine and you're find thousands of links to my other web sites and articles published on other popular web sites.
The above are past achievements. Here are some current achievements:
I launched the first site in my AMGY.com Network in March, 2002. I've added a dozen sites, consisting of over 3,000 content pages, to the network since then.
The main websites are Mike's Marketing Tools (this site) and Mike's Ecommerce Software. Combined they attract about 105,000 targeted visitors every month, generating about 750,000 page views.
The majority of my traffic comes from the search engines (95% from Google). A small percentage come from advertising, syndicated articles, mentions in newsletters, links from other web sites, word-of-mouth, and repeat visitors.
Below is a screenshot of this web site's traffic according to Alexa, a third-party site traffic monitoring system.
The web site was launched back in September 2002. The entire web site was optimized for the search engines from the very beginning. As a result the site attracted hundreds of top search engine rankings, which resulted in thousands of visitors to the site every month.
As you can see, the site traffic has been growing steadily ever since. During the last couple of years, Alexa has consistently ranked Mike's Marketing Tools in the top 5-6,000 websites, which places it amongst the top one percent of all web sites on the internet.
Don't get me wrong. I don't claim to be some marketing guru. I've had a few (more like quite a few!) failures too, but I think it's best I keep those to myself. ;o)
But you can see that I know a thing or two about building and promoting an internet business.
Over the years I've literally visited thousands of web sites. I've used, reviewed and tried hundreds of internet marketing tools, guides, software programs and services. I've wasted thousands of dollars on marketing tools that didn't live up to the hype. But I've also discovered most of the gems.
Unbiased Recommendations
As you probably know, it takes a long time to build a good reputation. Yet it can disappear in a flash. Upset one person online and a thousand people can hear about it within minutes. I believe success depends on having a good reputation. Without it, one would surely fail.
For that reason, and that reason alone, I support every product, service or tool I put my name to. This is why you rarely see my name attached to a testimonial I have written - even though this is one of the best ways to build link popularity. I would never recommend a poor product just for the sake of making a few extra dollars.
I only offer or recommend products that I either use myself, or have actively researched them, and found them to be the best of its category for building your internet business. I ignore poor quality products, and products not directly relevant to your success.
